A sudden streak of emerald chaos...
Green parrots commuting in noisy flocks, turning ordinary air into a celebration of pure motion and chatter. No destination rushed, just joyful noise and vibrant color always on the move.
I’ve spent many mornings watching them land in fruiting trees, cracking nuts and berries with their strong beaks, or flying together in tight, chatty groups that make the whole canopy feel alive. Their vibrant green feathers catch the light beautifully, especially when they’re feeding up close or soaring overhead in a synchronized flock. One morning I caught them right as they descended on a favorite fruiting tree. Head tilted, eyes bright, completely absorbed in the simple pleasure of eating together.
Green parrots live in noisy family groups and travel the Costa Rican rain forest edges with constant conversation. They’re bold and curious, never shy about announcing their presence with a flurry of wings and calls that echo through the trees.
Watching them feast on nuts and fruit feels like witnessing pure, uncomplicated joy. They don’t rush. They share the branches, chatter constantly and move as one when it’s time to fly again. Their flight is fast and direct, a flash of emerald against the blue sky that always makes me stop and smile.
These parrots have become some of my favorite daily companions. They remind me that life can be loud, colorful and shared without ever losing its sweetness. They show up fully, enjoy what the day offers and keep moving with energy and connection.
In the quiet moments after they fly off, I often feel a little lighter myself. Like they left a bit of their joy behind for me to carry through the rest of the day. These green parrot moments have filled my heart and lens again and again.
When have you watched a group of birds or animals and felt their energy lift you too?
