ONE ORDINARY MORNING WALK...

along the black sandy beach just ten minutes from the rainforest, the sky exploded into life. A small group of scarlet macaws, all with beautiful vibrant red bodies trailing blue and yellow wings, were hanging together in a beach almond tree. Cracking nuts with their powerful beaks, feathers glowing against the brilliant blue sky. No deep jungle canopy here... just open sky, sand and these bold parrots claiming the coast as their ocean front restaurant.

That sight hit like a reminder: wild beauty doesn't need permission or remote trails, it shows up where you least expect and demanding you notice.

These macaws, symbols of Costa Rica's resilient spirit, thrive along the Pacific beaches, pairing for life and filling the air with color on quiet mornings. Moments like this are why I capture and then print them in all their vibrant, raw beauty, to bring that unexpected burst of joy into everyday life.

Ever had wildlife surprise you in an "ordinary" spot?
